FFL: Miami Upsets Pittsburgh 42-33
Miami got through the AFC Championship by sending home Pittsburgh, pulling off the upset and beating Pittsburgh in a game where nobody gave them much of a chance. Their prospects certainly looked bleak on paper, with most predictions giving Pittsburgh a solid win thanks to better skill at most positions. But head coach Bob came up with a marvelous game plan and kept Pittsburgh coach Bob guessing most of the game. This, as well as a number of solid performances by Hill and others, gave Miami the edge they needed to come out on top. "I think we caught them by surprise," said Bob after the game. "They played like they expected the win to be handed to them, but we made some adjustments after studying their tendencies and it paid off."
Miami was led by QB Bowerman (253 yards and 3 touchdowns), TB Legorreta (81 yards and 1 touchdown), WR Hill (158 yards and 3 touchdowns). OLB Polk (10 tackles) and CB Lee (3 blocks) led the defense. Pittsburgh was led by QB Walker (290 yards and 2 touchdowns), TB Anderson (99 yards and 2 touchdowns), WR Jenkins (100 yards). ILB MacNamara (8 tackles) and CB Manson (2 blocks and 1 interception) led the defense.
