 | | | Request For: Pro and College Basketball Request Title: Fix end of game logic
 Description
 Virginia possession. 0:06 remaining.
 Moses long inbounds to Hester.
Hester attempts half-court shot over Rogers. Not good.
 Virginia: 74, Virginia Tech: 75
Teams need to show a little more urgency at the end of the game. In this situation, VT was not playing any pressure ... just sitting back in the half-court defense to guard the final shot. It should not be hard for a team to inbound the ball and move up the court for a final shot in 6 seconds. Instead UVA settled for a half-court shot?
 Iowa possession. 0:03 remaining.
 Herrera long inbounds to Mcclain.
 Illinois pressuring the ball.
Mcclain attempts half-court shot against Young. Not good.
 Iowa: 78, Illinois: 80
Most teams would take their chances on a high risk pass instead of making their PG bring the ball up against the press and settle for a half-court shot.
 West Virginia possession. 0:03 remaining.
 Goto long inbounds to Alexander.
 Texas Christn giving light help.
Alexander attempts half-court shot in front of Robinson. Not good.
Again - take a look at Christian Laettner's game winner against Kentucky in 1992. There were only 2 seconds on the clock. Duke passed the ball most of the length of the court, Laettner actually had time for a dribble before turning around to shoot the game winner.
Teams could advance the ball to midcourt and call timeout for an easier inbound. It shouldn't always be a half-court shot.

 Priority: Short Term

Admin NotesThe amount of time run off the clock during an inbounds has been reduced. Additionally, since most shots dubbed half-court shots are long three pointers (taken from the frontcourt), the nomenclature (and likelihood of making it) have been updated to reflect that.
